Zach McAllister looking good as late-inning reliever
by Gavin Tramps | Sun, Jul 19th 9:12am EDT
On Saturday, vs. the Reds, RHP Zach McAllister was handed the ball in the ninth inning after Cody Allen had given up a three-run homer in the eighth. McAllister fired a scoreless final inning to clinch the game 9-4 for the Indians.
Fantasy Impact:
After an impressive Spring Training, Zach McAllister looked like he would make the jump from bullpen to starter. This only lasted one start of five runs on 13 hits over just four innings. Since reverting to a reliever, McAllister has become an integral part of Terry Francona's bullpen. He has conceded just one run over his last 12 games (12 1/3 innings) with 16 strikeouts, three walks and a 0.73 ERA.
