Mark Mathias traded from Rangers to Pirates

The Texas Rangers have traded outfielder Mark Mathias to the Pittsburgh Pirates for a player to be named later. (Evan Grant on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Mathias was designated for assignment last week when the Rangers signed reliever Will Smith. The 28-year-old Mathias impressed in 30 games with the Rangers last season, hitting six home runs with three steals and an .825 OPS across 91 trips to the plate. He also hit .318 with eight homers, eight steals, and a .939 OPS across 50 games with the Brewers' Triple-A affiliate before joining the Rangers organization in 2022.
