Odorizzi continues to throw bullpen sessions but has yet to face a live hitter to this point in the spring. Rangers general manager Chris Young said Odorizzi's ability to start the regular season on the active roster is in doubt as a result. The right-hander made 22 starts between the Astros and Braves in 2022, posting a 4.40 ERA and 19% K% in that time. Regardless of his ailment, the Rangers plan to use Odorizzi as a long reliever in the 2023 campaign.
