The Detroit Tigers have signed reliever Trevor Rosenthal to a minor-league deal with an invite to MLB spring training. (Tigers PR on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
The Tigers are taking a flyer on Rosenthal after he missed each of the last two seasons due to injuries. Rosenthal actually briefly pitched for the Tigers in the 2019 season before exploding in 2020 to the tune of a 1.90 ERA and 41.8% K% across 23 2/3 innings between the Royals and Padres, saving 11 games in the process. Thoracic Outlet Syndrome has been a major hurdle to climb in his return to action as the Tigers take a low-risk flyer on the right-hander.
