The Texas Rangers have signed outfielder Jackson Frazier to a minor-league pact. (Texas Rangers PR on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
The minor-league deal comes with an invite to big-league spring training. Fraizer has failed to live up to his prospect hype after being taken with the fifth overall pick in the 2013 draft. He's appeared in just 247 career games, hitting .238 with 29 homers and a .756 OPS in that time. While his career 105 wRC+ represents a bat 5% more productive than the league average, he posted an 83 mark in 2021 and a 97 mark in 2022 when he played in just 19 games with the Cubs, failing to hit a home run in 45 plate appearances. He's one of a long list of Rangers outfielders that will compete for a roster spot in camp.
