Joey Butlers struggles continue
by Jamison Malasko | Sun, Jul 5th 12:12pm EDT
Joey Butler went 0 for 4 and struck out four times in the Rays 3-2 loss to the Yankees on Saturday. He is now hitting .299 for the year and is now 4 for his last 33 (.121 BA) in his last nine games.
Fantasy Impact:
This is the first time he has seen his average dip below .300 since the end of May. We all knew that at some point the rookie was going to struggle as do most people coming up from the minors. Whats more alarming from a fantasy view is Grady Sizemore has started to cut into his playing time. Leave Butler on the waiver wire for now until he starts to heat up and starts to play more consistently.
