Spenser Watkins allows one run, strikes out three Wednesday

Spenser Watkins (5-6) allowed one earned run on two hits over 3 1/3 innings Wednesday versus the Blue Jays, resulting in a no-decision in the 5-1 defeat in game 2 of the doubleheader. The right-hander struck out three and yielded two walks in the 55-pitch outing.
Fantasy Impact:
Watkins produced five whiffs and finished his last start of the season with an average pitch velocity of 85.9 mph. The Phoenix native finished his 2022 campaign with much improved numbers compared to his 2021 campaign. In 23 games played this year, he recorded a 4.70 ERA, 1.41 WHIP, a 63/30 K/BB ratio, and four quality starts.
