Austin Pruitt tosses five perfect innings Friday versus White Sox
by Diego Sandoval | Sat, Sep 10th 1:00am EDT
Austin Pruitt did not factor into the decision after allowing zero baserunners while striking out two in five innings of Friday's 5-3 loss to the White Sox.
Fantasy Impact:
Pruitt, who has been used as a reliever all season, shined as the starting arm for the A's on Friday by opening the game with five perfect innings. With this surprising showing, the right-hander lowered his ERA to 4.24 and his WHIP to 1.03 in 46 2/3 innings this season. It is unknown whether or not Oakland will consider keeping him in the rotation, but he definitely turned in a performance that would warrant that.
