Spenser Watkins allows five runs, strikes out three Tuesday

Spenser Watkins (4-5) allowed five earned runs on six hits over 4 2/3 innings, inheriting the loss in the 5-1 defeat. The right-hander struck out three and yielded zero walks in the 70-pitch outing.
Fantasy Impact:
Watkins produced eight whiffs while finishing the day with an average pitch velocity of 86.1 and a max pitch velocity of 93.4. Unfortunately, the righty's ERA ballooned to 4.26 after surrendering six hits and one home run. Furthermore, the 30-year-old's low K/9 rate of 5.68 severely caps his ceiling in fantasy. The Phoenix native is scheduled to start versus the Athletics in Baltimore on September 4.
