Rays reliever Ryan Thompson was tasked with pitching the 10th inning of Wednesday's game against the Brewers. With the extra-innings runner on second base, Thompson issued an intentional walk and then surrendered a walk-off single. This went in the books as an unearned run. The right-hander failed to retire a single batter and was charged with the loss as Tampa Bay ultimately fell to Milwaukee by a score of 4-3.
Fantasy Impact:
Thompson is now 3-3 with a 3.76 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, and .220 OBA through 43 games (38 1/3 innings) this season. He owns 7.75 K/9, 2.58 BB/9, and nine holds while going 3-for-8 in save situations. Thompson had allowed just one earned run over his last 16 outings heading into Wednesday.
