Nick Neidert works five frames in season debut for Marlins
by Nate Miller | Sat, Jul 30th 10:03pm EDT
Nick Neidert threw five innings in Saturday's 4-0 loss to the Mets, allowing two runs on five hits and no walks while striking out three.
Fantasy Impact:
Neidert was pretty solid in his season debut for the Marlins on Saturday night. The 25-year-old righty was called up to fill the rotation void left by Trevor Rogers (back). Neidert has pitched very well at Triple-A this year, posting a 2.25 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, and 44-to-8 K/BB ratio across 40 innings. He could well have earned himself another start for the Fish next weekend against the Cubs in Chicago.
