Kirk McCarty allowed four runs on six hits over five innings in a 13-4 loss to the Yankees in Game 1 of a Saturday doubleheader. McCarty struck out three and walked four while taking the loss.

McCarty was called up as a reinforcement as the Guardians were participating in their second doubleheader of the week.
