Yadier Molina (knee) returns to native Puerto Rico

by Andersen Pickard | Mon, Jun 27th 7:31am EDT

St. Louis Cardinals veteran catcher Yadier Molina returned to his home in Puerto Rico to rest his injured right knee, according to Rick Hummel of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. There is no timetable for his return. (STLToday.com)

Fantasy Impact:

The Cardinals will have to re-evaluate Molina with their own medical staff before he can play again, so the fact that he's now in Puerto Rico implies that he'll miss more than the minimum 10 days. Through 40 games this season, the veteran backstop is slashing .213/.225/.294 with two homers, 10 RBI, two walks, and 23 strikeouts. He can be dropped in most fantasy leagues.
