Andrew Bellatti earns the save on Sunday
by Dan Harris | Sun, Jun 26th 10:41pm EDT
Andrew Bellatti pitched a perfect ninth inning with one strikeout to record the save in the Phillies' win over the Padres on Sunday.
Fantasy Impact:
Bellatti saved 11 games in Triple-A last season but he was hardly considered in contention to be a ninth-inning option this year. Brad Hand and Seranthony Dominguez had both worked on Saturday, but that should hardly have precluded them from pitching again the following day. Bellatti could see more save chances down the road, but even if he does, he'll almost certainly be the absolute smallest part of a committee. Still, after locking down his first career save in the majors, it's good to know that he's a potential option if necessary.
