Mark Appel called up by Phillies

The Phillies have called up Mark Appel from Triple-A. (The Philadelphia Inquirer)
Fantasy Impact:
Appel was drafted first overall nine years ago, took a break from baseball four years ago, and now finally makes it to the majors at age 30. He's been effective in Triple-A this year, with a 1.61 ERA and 24 strikeouts in 28 innings, and will be used as a reliever while Connor Brogdon is on the COVID-IL. There's no reason to add him yet, but it's a great story.
