Rays infield prospect Jonathan Aranda made his MLB debut against the Pirates on Friday, batting seventh and playing second base. He went 1-for-2 with an RBI single before being replaced by Vidal Brujan in the sixth inning. Tampa Bay ultimately defeated by a score of 4-3 in 10 innings.
Fantasy Impact:
Aranda posted strong numbers in Triple-A this season, slashing .310/.386/.512 with 11 homers, 40 RBI, 28 walks, 56 strikeouts, and three stolen bases. Tampa Bay's No. 22 prospect (per MLB Pipeline), Aranda's presence on the active roster was much needed as Tampa Bay's already thin lineup continues to suffer through a barrage of injuries.
