Josh Donaldson will sit for just the second time this season as his day off Thursday comes while the third baseman is mired in a 3 for 25 slump (including current 0 for 10 skid) that has left his early season average sitting at .174. Donaldson is likely still getting acclimated to his new team having come over in a trade from Minnesota barely a month ago, an extremely late deal delayed thanks in large part to the lockout. On the bright side, his fielding has been stellar, highlighted by a nice on the run throw to cut a run down at the plate in Tuesday's game that preserved the Yankees' lead. His owners should hope that the day off recharges and resets him as he continues to adjust to life in pinstripes. Marwin Gonzalez draws the start in Donaldson's place.
