Blake Snell was scratched from Sunday’s start against Arizona dealing with an abductor injury. Padres manager Bob Melvin doesn’t believe it’s as serious as the one that forced him to shut down last September, but he will still likely headed to the IL. MacKenzie Gore, who fanned 7 in his season debut for the AAA El Paso Chihuahuas, would be available to slide into Snell’s rotation spot Friday and beyond, if needed.
