Patrick Corbin allows two runs to Mets on Opening Day

by Dan Harris | Fri, Apr 8th 8:01am EDT

Patrick Corbin allowed two runs on five hits and two walks over four innings on Thursday gainst the Mets. He struck out four and took the loss, falling to 0-1.

Fantasy Impact:

Corbin was actually very good until the fifth inning, during which he failed to record an out and was charged with two runs. He relied on his fastball more than usual in this start (38% after just 27.9% last season), but continued to use his slider heavily, and both pitches were effective until he ran out of gas. There was some optimism building for Corbin in the spring and despite his overall mediocre stat line, fantasy managers should be encouraged by his outing. He will take on the Braves in his next start.
