Richards has a long MLB career, but unfortunately, injuries have held him back from his potential. Richards did pitch 136.2 innings last year with Boston, the most of his career since 2015. Unfortunately, those innings consisted of a 4.87 ERA and a 1.60 WHIP. The Rangers like Richards in a multi-inning relief role. Last season, Richards had a 3.42 ERA and a 25 percent strikeout rate as a reliever.
