We do not know the specifics of Heuer's surgery yet, but it does not look promising for his 2022 outlook. Heuer was one of the Cubs' top options for saves coming into the season, but it appears that could be put on hold. If he had Tommy John surgery, he would miss the entire 2022 season and some of 2023. For now, we will wait for further news on the type of surgery he had. Rowan Wick seems to be the clear front runner for closer at the moment.
