David DeJesus provides spark in comeback win against Yankees
by Mike Werner | Tue, May 12th 10:53pm EDT
Coming to bat in the seventh inning, DeJesus delivered a clutch, game-tying base knock off of Nathan Eovaldi to score Evan Longoria and Logan Forsythe. The Rays would go on to score the winning run the next inning via an Evan Longoria sac-fly. DeJesus ended the night going 2-for-3 with two RBI. Tonight represented his fourth multi-hit outing in his last seven games.
Fantasy Impact:
DeJesus has been a catalyst for this average Rays lineup in 2015. He's hitting .311/.370/.432 to go along with two home runs,13 RBI, and a stolen base. With the additions of John Jaso and Steven Souza in the off-season, the Rays were contemplating trading or releasing DeJesus in Spring Training with the assumption he wouldn't have an opportunity to receive consistent at-bats. There still isn't any definitive timetable for either Jennings or Jaso, so continue to ride DeJesus while he's hot in AL-Only leagues.
