Tyler Chatwood takes the loss in Giants debut

by Jon Mathisen | Diamondbacks Correspondent | Wed, Aug 18th 8:08pm EDT

RHP Tyler Chatwood took the loss in relief on Wednesday when he allowed five runs--three earned--with four strikeouts over two innings in a 6-2 loss to the Mets on Wednesday.

Fantasy Impact:

Chatwood was making his Giants debut after San Francisco signed him to a minor league contract last week following his release from the Blue Jays. He entered in the 11th inning and allowed the inherited runner to score from a Michael Conforto double. He coughed up four more runs, three earned, in the 11th inning but the Giants weren't able to mount a comeback so he was hit with the loss. The veteran hurler doesn't offer much value as a reliever, especially given the type of season he's had so far. He owns a 6.00 ERA, 1.50 WHIP, and 36:20 K/BB ratio over 30 innings between the Jays and the Giants.
