Spencer Patton throws perfect inning, earns save
by Andersen Pickard | Tue, Aug 3rd 2:20am EDT
Tasked with pitching the ninth inning of a 4-1 game against the Angels on Monday, Rangers reliever Spencer Patton came through. He tossed a perfect frame and struck out one batter along the way while issuing nine strikes and six balls. The 33-year-old earned his first save of 2021 as Texas edged out Los Angeles.
Fantasy Impact:
Patton could see more work as a closer going forward now that Ian Kennedy has been traded to the Phillies. Through 20 innings, the right-hander is 1-1 with a 3.15 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, .213 OBA, seven walks, and 27 strikeouts.
