Taylor Widener allows five runs in no-decision

by Jon Mathisen | Braves Correspondent | Tue, Aug 3rd 1:50am EDT

RHP Taylor Widener took a no-decision on Monday when he allowed five runs on five hits with three walks and seven strikeouts over 4 1/3 innings in the D-Backs' 11-8 loss to the Giants.

Fantasy Impact:

Widener served up a two-run dinger to Mike Yastrzemski in the top of the third inning before loading the bases in the top of the fifth and getting replaced by J.B. Bukauskas. All three runners came around to score so Widener was tagged with five earned runs. He now owns a 5.05 ERA, 1.46 WHIP, and 43:19 K/BB ratio over 41 innings (nine starts). He gets the Padres on the road in his next turn and isn't a recommended fantasy play in that one.
