Mike Foltynewicz gives up three homers in loss
by Andersen Pickard | Thu, Jul 22nd 8:30pm EDT
Rangers starter Mike Foltynewicz struggled once again on Thursday, allowing six runs (five earned) and five hits over five innings of work. He surrendered three home runs in the process while walking two batters and striking out four. Folty was hit with the loss as Texas ultimately fell to Detroit by a score of 7-5.
Fantasy Impact:
Foltynewicz is now a miserable 2-10 this year, giving him the second-most losses in all of MLB. Through 20 outings, he has amassed a 6.11 ERA, 1.36 WHIP, and .281 OBA while walking 25 batters and striking out 77. Folty's stat line would suggest he's treading on thin ice, but the Rangers might not be able to afford to lose him if they end up trading Kyle Gibson by the end of the month.
