Riley Smith coughs up four runs in relief

RHP Riley Smith served up four runs on five hits with a strikeout across two innings of relief in Thursday's 9-3 loss to the Rockies.
Fantasy Impact:
Smith came on in relief in the seventh inning with the D-Backs only trailing by one run. However, he did not keep the game close as he was expected to do. He allowed the first six batters he faced to reach base. All but one recorded a hit (he hit C.J. Cron with a pitch). He eventually got out of the inning and went on to pitch a scoreless eighth but the damage was done. The poor outing raised his season ERA to 6.20 to go along with a 1.52 WHIP and 36:15 K/BB ratio over 65 1/3 innings (22 appearances, six starts). He'll get the occasional spot start here and there but he'll primarily be used out of the bullpen in the second half.
