Riley Smith takes the loss on Wednesday vs. the Cards

by Jon Mathisen | Wed, Jun 30th 4:58pm EDT

RHP Riley Smith took the loss on Wednesday when he allowed four runs on seven hits with one strikeout over three innings as the D-Backs lost to the Cardinals 7-4.

Fantasy Impact:

The Cardinals hit Smith around on Wednesday as he allowed three doubles and four singles. Kwang Hyun Kim knocked a two-run double in the bottom of the second inning before Tyler O'Neill and Yadier Molina each notched an RBI single in the top of the third inning. Smith's day was done after three innings and 60 pitches. The 26-year-old now owns a 6.02 ERA, 1.53 WHIP, and 33:15 K/BB ratio over 61 1/3 innings (20 appearances, six starts). If he gets another start, it'll be at home against the Rockies next week. He shouldn't be streamed in fantasy though.
