Kyle Zimmer throws scoreless inning as opener on Saturday
by Brad Camara | Sat, Jun 26th 10:13pm EDT
Kansas City Royals pitcher Kyle Zimmer allowed two walks while striking out two across one inning during Saturday’s 8-0 loss to the Rangers. He did not factor into the decision.
Fantasy Impact:
Zimmer was used as the opener for the second time in the last three games and struck out two over a scoreless frame. He was replaced by Kris Bubic in the second inning. Zimmer has been solid in 2021, owning a 2.40 ERA, 1.03 WHIP, and 30 strikeouts over 30 innings. The 29-year-old will continue to be used as an opener and reliever for the Royals, but his fantasy value is limited to deep-league formats.
