Caleb Baragar records first save of the year on Saturday

by Jon Mathisen | Twins Correspondent | Sun, Jun 13th 2:32am EDT

LHP Caleb Baragar earned his first save of the season on Saturday when he allowed one run on one hit and hit a batter over one inning in the Giants' 2-1 victory over the Nationals in game 2 of their doubleheader.

Fantasy Impact:

Both teams struggled to get anything going offensively so this one went to extra-innings. Both Tyler Rogers and Jake McGee worked the sixth and seventh innings, leaving Baragar to close out the game once San Francisco took the lead in the eighth inning. He immediately served up an RBI double to Starlin Castro that scored a run and cut the Giants' lead in half. He then hit Victor Robles with a pitch to put runners on first and second. Then Josh Bell flew out to center field and Robles got thrown out at second trying to tag up before Trea Turner popped out to end the game. All is well that ends well. Baragar now owns a 0.49 ERA, 1.36 WHIP, and 14:11 K/BB ratio over 18 1/3 innings on the year.
