With the Cardinals leading 7-0 on Wednesday, Jordan Hicks entered the game and pitched a scoreless ninth inning, yielding a hit and a walk while recording one strikeout.
Fantasy Impact:
With Alex Reyes getting the night off, Hicks was warming for a save situation with the Cardinals leading 3-0 in the top of the ninth before blowing the game open with a Dylan Carlson grand slam. Nonetheless, Hicks still got the ball in the ninth and showed improved velocity, sitting at 102-103 mph with his fastball. Reyes appears to own the ninth inning in St. Louis for now, but Hicks is lurking and starting to resemble his pre-injury form.
