J.P. Howell the final matchup piece in closing out the Mariners
by Stan Son | Thu, Apr 16th 1:25am EDT
J.P. Howell recorded the final two outs in the Dodgers 5-2 victory over the Seattle Mariners. He was brought in to face two lefties in Brad Miller and Dustin Ackley.
Fantasy Impact:
Joel Peralta was being treated for a stiff neck prior to the game and was probably unavailable. Yimi Garcia had pitched the prior two nights and was also unavailable. Tonight's game didn't shed any light on the closer situation as Mattingly played the matchups with the arms that were available. Paco Rodriguez pitched the sixth and part of the seventh. Chris Hatcher recorded two outs in the seventh. Pedro Baez pitched the eighth and one out in the ninth. Unless Peralta's injury is serious, he is still the go-to-guy until Kenley Jansen comes back.
