Ernesto Frieri gets four outs for first save
by Jamison Malasko | Sun, Apr 12th 6:52pm EDT
Frieri pitched one and two third innings on sunday to earn his first save of the season. He came on in the 8th inning with two runners on in a 7-4 game and was able to get out of the jam. He gave up a two out double to Dee Gordon in the ninth but was able to secure the final out and pick up the save.
Fantasy Impact:
It has seemed like Brad Boxberger has taking over closer responsibility but since he has pitched four out of five days it seemed like manager Kevin Cash was giving him the day off. Frieri got into a little bit of trouble to where they had Kevin Jepson warming up, but Frieri was able to get out of it. Don't look for Frieri to get many save opportunities as they should all go to Boxberger.
