Dustin Pedroia, who has dealt with knee issues for the last few years, is "not planning a comeback and a resolution could come this month," according to Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe. (Pete Abraham on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Pedroia is still under contract with the Red Sox through 2021, even though he's appeared in just nine games since the beginning of the 2018 season. There was a report late last year that Pedroia and the Red Sox were planning to meet to discuss a formal end to his playing career and it appears that could be coming very soon. He still on the 40-man roster and sooner or later Boston will need to make space. Abraham added that given Pedroia's legendary status with the organization that they'll want to handle this the right way and with all due respect.
