Buddy Carlyle earns Opening Day save

by David A Marcillo | Tue, Apr 7th 1:54pm EDT

New York Mets reliever Buddy Carlyle earned a save on Opening Day, pitching two-thirds of an inning and inducing two ground ball outs.

Fantasy Impact:

Carlyle came in after Jerry Blevins got the first out of the inning and shut the Nationals down to seal the win for the Mets. With closer Jenrry Mejia unavailable due to an elbow injury, the Mets will turn to Jeurys Familia in future save situations. The 37 year old Carlyle holds no fantasy value.
