The White Sox signed free agent OF Adam Eaton to a one-year, $7 million contract Tuesday. The deal includes a second-year team option for $8.5 million. (Chuck Garfien on Twitter )
Fantasy Impact:
The Nationals declined Eaton’s $10.5 million option in late October. Eaton returns to the White Sox after playing in Chicago from 2014-2016. He is expected to be the team’s starting RF and will look to bounce back after a disappointing 2020 campaign. The 32-year-old OF slashed .226/.285/.384 with four homers, 17 RBI, 22 runs scored and three stolen bases across 176 plate appearances last season. Eaton is fully recovered from a fractured left index finger which limited to 41 games in 2020 and is expected to be 100 percent by the start of Spring Training.
