Joey Gerber took a blown save and a loss on Friday when he surrendered three runs, two earned, on two hits over 2/3 inning in the Mariners 3-1 extra innings loss to the A's.
Fantasy Impact:
Gerber entered the game in the bottom of the 10th inning, with a designated runner on second, to protect a slim 1-0 lead. He got the first two batters out before Ramon Laureano tied the game with an RBI double. Mark Canha was the next batter and took him deep for the 3-1 walk off victory. Gerber was one of many Seattle relievers to struggle this season. He owns a 4.30 ERA, 1.23 WHIP, and a 6:5 K/BB ratio over 14 2/3 innings. He blew his only save opportunity of the year on Friday but did register five holds.
