Smoak was designated for assignment on Thursday and was eventually released by the Brewers. He will become a free agent after clearing waivers. Smoak slashed .186/.262/.381 across 126 plate appearances for the Brewers in 2020. The 33-year-old will look to latch onto another team before the 2020 season is over.
