Edward Olivares hits first career home run
by Steven Boysko | Sat, Aug 8th 6:33pm EDT
Edward Olivares hit a pinch-hit, solo home run in the Padres' 3-0 win over the Diamondbacks on Friday night.
Fantasy Impact:
Olivares stepped to the plate in the fifth inning against Arizona's Al Young and blasted a 2-0 pitch to the opposite field for his first big fly. The 24-year-old Olivares has found success so far in a part-time role, batting .263 with an OPS of .807 in 19 at-bats. He's a player to keep an eye on, especially if he inherits a full-time role at any point this season.
