Jose Osuna was optioned to the Pirates' alternate training site following Wednesday's loss to the Twins. (Jason Mackey on Twitter )

Osuna was optioned to the alternate site after the Pirates had to trim the roster down from 30 to 28 by Thursday. He slashed .158/.238/.316 with one home run, four RBI and one run scored across 21 plate appearances this season.
