Cespedes didn’t show up to the ball park Sunday and hasn’t been in contact with the team. He decided to opt out of the 2020 season, per Mets general manager Brodie Van Wagenen. Cespedes slashed .161/.235/.387 with two homers, four RBI and three runs scored across 31 at-bats this season. Look for Dominic Smith to see some extra at-bats with Cespedes opting out for the year.
