Tom Layne is in the mix for an Opening Day roster spot and has been receiving rave reviews from manager John Farrell, the Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports. (Alex Speier on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Tom Layne is off to a great start for the Red Sox in spring training. He finished the year strong with Boston in 2014 and was great coming out of the bullpen as a situational left hander and was effective against lefties (.159). There is an opportunity for him but it may require the Red Sox moving someone.
