Brett Gardner sets career high in home runs as Yankees fall to Tigers
by Brandon Plutner | Tue, Sep 10th 10:46pm EDT
Brett Gardner went 2-for-5 with a pair of home runs as the Yankees lost to the Tigers 12-11.
Fantasy Impact:
Gardner surpassed his previous career high of 21 home runs with a solo shot in the first inning. For good measure, the veteran added a two-run blast in the second inning. The batting average hasn't been where you'd want it to be of late (.215 over his past 15 games going into Tuesday), but Gardner has now hit eight home runs in his last 16 games. He has some fantasy upside, and a real chance to get to 25 home runs on the year.
