Edinson Volquez activated from injured list

Edison Volquez (elbow) was reinstated off the 60-day injured list ahead of Sunday's 11-3 loss to the Mariners. He issued one walk and struck out a batter in a scoreless inning of relief.
Fantasy Impact:
Volquez broke camp as a member of the Texas rotation but lasted just two starts before being shut down with a serious right elbow sprain. He opted to treat the injury through rest and rehab, which kept the door open for him to return in 2019 as a reliever. Volquez may pitch a few relief appearances in September, but he acknowledged that he plans to retire at the end of the season.
