Wander Suero posts first save Friday
by Connor Rooney | Sat, Jun 22nd 8:16am EDT
Wander Suero recorded his first save of the season, allowing one hit with one walk and one strikeout during the ninth inning of a 4-3 win over the Braves on Friday.
Fantasy Impact:
With Sean Doolittle having pitched in each of the Nationals' two previous games, the club turned to Suero in the ninth on Friday. The Nationals will likely go to Suero again in save chances if Doolittle needs rest, but Suero's numbers aren't impressive enough to be fantasy relevant. He's 1-4 with 5.74 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 42 strikeouts in 31.1 innings this season.
