Rasmus reportedly told Buck Showalter that he wanted to "discontinue" playing baseball. Rasmus, who has battled injuries this season, was placed on the restricted list last year, too, before deciding to try his hand again. If this is it for Rasmus, and it likely is, he leaves with 166 home runs, a more than respectable total.
