Luis Valbuena homers twice in Angels win
by Waleed Hawatky | Wed, May 30th 11:35am EDT
Luis Valbuena finished 3-for-5 with a pair of solo home runs and three RBI as the Angels beat the Tigers 9-2.
Fantasy Impact:
Valbuena put the Halos on the board first with a second inning single that plated Albert Pujols, coming around to score when Ian Kinsler cleared the bases with a home run in the very next at bat. He then solo shotted one in the fourth and another one in the eighth for good measure. Even despite the big game, Valbuena is not much of a fantasy asset outside of deep AL-only formats having not hit in eight games prior and not homering since May 1st. His .234/.279/.380 line, six home runs and 19 RBI are uninspiring but decent considering his only playing time is really whenever he spells Shohei Ohtani.
