Jay Groome will undergo Tommy John surgery, Sean McAdam of BostonSportsJournal.com reports. Groome is set to have the procedure done later this week or early next week. (Sean McAdam on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Groome is the Red Sox top pitching prospect and former first-round pick. Groome was also owned in many Dynasty leagues. Fantasy owners can move on now as he will be out at least until mid-season of 2019.
