Jake Thompson throws three shutout innings versus Marlins

Jake Thompson hadn't appeared in a game since allowing five runs in two innings on March 31. He rebounded with three shutout innings on Saturday. Thompson allowed just one hit and struck out four in a 20-1 rout of the Marlins.

Thompson threw 39 pitches, 26 of them for strikes. He's struck out four and walked one in five innings of work. A starter in 18 of his 22 Major League appearances, Thompson's role appears to be in the bullpen this season.
