Christian Bergman was recalled from Triple-A Tacoma Saturday. He will be available to pitch tonight in a relief role. (Greg Johns of MLB.com on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Bergman, who cleared waivers and was outrighted to Tacoma on August 4, could possibly start in the place of injured James Paxton later this week. In a corresponding move, the Mariners optioned Andrew Moore back down to Tacoma. Bergman (4-4) struggled in a starting role with the Mariners earlier this year, posting a 5.44 ERA, 1.45 WHIP, 5.8 K/9, 2.7BB/9 and 2.1 HR/9 over 46.1 innings. Fantasy owners would be better served looking elsewhere for immediate pitching help.
